Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - "U" is for UFO (Unfinished Object)

Hello everyone!  Today at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers we have a pretty special challenge where "U" is for UFO (UNFINISHED Object).

Two things I have noticed that we crafters all have in common is that One: we all have a stash of  "special items" that are  never to be used until that perfect project comes along (sometimes for years - grin), and Two: we all have a shelf, or box or drawer or closet FULL of unfinished projects!  If this sounds like you, THIS is the time to pull out one of those projects and "Get 'Er Done"!  Here is my Finally completed project:

The bones of this 4x6 board canvas were created back in 2014 when I was still living in Carstairs, Alberta and it looked like THIS:
I pasted a lovely gelli print onto the canvas and stamped it with my favorite Unity Stamp by Donna Downey "Wild and Free", and then used a watered-down gesso to fade out the background. and there it sat for TWO YEARS!

I have pulled it out and looked at it so many times since then but it took this challenge to finally "Get 'Er Done!" grin.  Now for those that want to know, I used my stamping on tissue paper technique to add this wonderful Kraftin' Kimmie stamp that I have never inked before.

I applied the tissue with a watered-down matte Mod Podge and once the tissue paper had dried I went back in with my Peerless watercolors and added the color to the stamped image.  A thin layer of Twinkling H20's added the shimmer to the dragon.  Thank you EDNA for helping me get this out of it's box and onto my window sill - because I LOVE IT!

So why not use our challenge to help you finish off one of those UFOs?  You have until Midnight, Friday December 9th to link up your now finished project and you know we always pick a Queen of Snark and her princesses!

Thanks for popping in today to see what I am up to and please do leave me a comment if you like what you see!

  7. Love how you transformed that old canvas into something quite different! I don't have many UFOs lying around but I do have some unloved projects that I simply gesso over to save the substrate and do something else with. And I have lots of those "special items" that may never get used - I just get them out from time to time to stroke them LOL!
