"S" is for Steampunk!

Yup, It's that time again!! Another Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #11: "S" is for STEAMPUNK!

Now although I LOVE this style of Arting it is so not how I usually create, so before I could even start, I had to do some searching for a few free, downloadable digital images that I could use. I searched and searched and nothing really jumped out at me until I found THIS!

A Steampunk SHARK?!? Now THAT is seriously COOL!  After finding the shark image I went looking for the perfect shark quote and almost immediately I found this one, which absolutely resonated with me and pulled all my images together:

"My wish is to ride the tempest, tame the waves, kill the sharks.
I will not resign myself to the usual lot of women who bow their heads and become concubines."
Trieun Thi Choi
Don't you just love when everything comes together like it was meant to be?  So here is my card for this challenge... I hope you like ... cuz I sure do!!

So come on, let's PLAY! (grin) Why not whip up something to link up for this challenge.... just make something Steampunk-y and link it up to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stamper's Blog... you have until July 11th... and then you too can be eligible to win one of our awesome winners Blinkies for your blog!

AND maybe even become a guest designer for one of our future challenges...Smile

So, thanks for stopping by to see what I am up to, and please do let me know what you think....

Have You Ever Tried Paper Piecing?

This week at the brand new Handmade Harbour challenge blog site the challenge is "Clean & Simple" (CAS).  Just create a card in this style to be eligible to win the Handmade Harbour Winner's Badge for your blog AND if you use one of the Handmade Harbour digital stamps on your card you will also be eligible to win three more digis of your choosing.
Here is my creation using the "Fishing Boats on the Beach" digi using the Paper Piecing technique:

I pulled my digi into a Word document like clip art and sized it fit twice on an 8 1/2 x 11inch piece of paper.  I printed my document seven times on different solid colored cardstock sheets and then cut and pasted until I liked the results.

And of course because it's ME, I added stickles for that sparkle factor, but in this case stickles also helped to cover up some of my glue messes.
Thank you for stopping by to see what I am up to these days and I hope you enjoyed my creation for this challenge.  Please, do stop in at the Handmade Harbour Challenge Blog to see what my design teammates created and maybe challenge yourself to enter this week.
Cheers,
